PAWTUCKET – For years, Hasbro Inc. has been transforming itself from toymaker to “a global brand and entertainment company.” As another step in that evolution, the Pawtucket-based company announced in the fall that it was creating Hascon a three-day celebration of the varied brands the company has created and nurtured. As the Sept. 8-10 event nears, Hasbro has opened ticket sales.
Modeled after Comic-Con, it will take place at the R.I. Convention Center, and will feature panels, oversized games, meet and greets, and interactive brand experiences. PieFace, Magic the Gathering, Transformers, My Little Pony and Dungeons and Dragons will be featured at the “Hascon Fanmily Event,” along with products and characters from partner brands Disney, Sesame Street and Dreamworks Trolls.

The convention will feature special passes, including a VIP children’s pass as well as VIP passes specifically for Magic the Gathering Players or Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts. Adult single-day passes are $60, children ages 3-15 are $30, and admission is free for children aged 2 and under. Three-day adult passes are $165, while children three-day passes will cost $75.
“Hasbro constantly strives for new ways to bring our storytelling to life and offer fans greater access to our brands, and Hascon is designed to bring attendees closer to Hasbro’s biggest properties than ever before,” said John Frascotti, president of Hasbro. “We are assembling the ultimate fan celebration, with three days of marquee talent, interactive activities, immersive experiences, game events, panel discussions, VIP events and much more. We’re set to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans and families alike.”
