Housing shortage focus of upcoming summit at Rhode Island College

PROVIDENCE – Housing, health and education advocates will hold a summit Dec. 11 focused on the statewide housing shortage.

The program is intended to set priorities for Homes RI, a coalition of organizations that are trying to increase and preserve the supply of safe and affordable homes in the state.

The Homes RI Summit will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The event is at Rhode Island College in the Student Ballroom. Speakers will include Chantelle Wilkinson from “Opportunity Starts at Home,” a national campaign. Presenters will include representatives of HousingWorks RI at Roger Williams University and the Narragansett Bay Research Reserve.

The goal is to set a policy agenda and advocacy framework for the next three years, according to a news release.
