‘Innovation expedition’ slated for Feb.

Innovation Partners International, a consultancy focused on “building strength-based organizations,” is hosting its third “Innovation Expedition in Health Care” at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, Mass., on Feb. 7 and 8.
Described as “an intimate gathering” of innovators, the project involves a nonprofit alliance of independent educators, thought leaders, and “change facilitators,” the organizers said.
“We are committed to creating an engaging and inspiring learning environment where those who are leading health care innovation and reform can collaborate and build new ideas that will create the bridge toward a ‘second curve’ in health care delivery,” they said.
Attendance is by invitation only, but the organizers are holding space for a “diverse mix of health care stakeholders,” including doctors, nursing leaders, regulatory agencies, administrators, government entities, insurers, pharmaceutical firms, and foundations.
Each participant will be asked to be both a contributor and collaborator, sharing stories and helping inform the group’s work in health care reform.
Topics of interest include innovation and new designs for primary care, including advances in medical home models or family health teams; advances in inter-professional collaboration, integration of new roles and new delivery models; technological innovations; advances in patient safety, and patient and family-centered care; and innovations in integration and transition across the continuum of care.
