Is Gov. Gina M. Raimondo’s effort to reduce small business regulation going to make an impact on the bureaucratic difficulties that the state’s entrepreneurs face?

Gov. Gina M. Raimondo recently announced that the state has reduced by almost one-third the volume of regulations affecting small businesses in Rhode Island. Given that when the effort started, the state had about 8,000 pages of regulations on the books, will her efforts make a difference to the state’s entrepreneurs? Or was the announcement made just in time for the election for political reasons and will have little real effect in the long run?
