July events at Collaborative include henna workshop, artist reception

WARREN – On July 2, the Warren-based nonprofit arts group The Collaborative announced its July events schedule.

The first listed event, a henna workshop with Holly Ferreira, will take place Saturday, July 14, from 1-4 p.m. Limited to 10 people, tickets are $15 each and will include lessons on mixing the henna, practicing technique and traditional designs. Registration is available online.

Wednesday, July 18, will see Hotel Ten Eyes play a live show at the gallery. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for an 8 p.m. show with a $12 donation at the door.

On the following Friday evening, July 20, an artist reception will be held for Collaborative member Matt DeLeo, who will unveil his new works. The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. at the Warren gallery, with light refreshments provided.

The final July event, an artist’s reception for Grigor Saribekyan, will be held on Friday, July 27, from 6-8 p.m. An artist with Resources for Human Development Rhode Island, a nonprofit group in Pawtucket working with the adult developmentally disabled community, Saribekyan is the Collaborative’s July student artist.

Looking into August, the organization has begun to market its Warren Folk Festival. Taking place from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, at 30 Cutler St., the third annual fair will include performances by Haunt the House, the Quahogs, the Low Cards, Roots Government, John Colvert and the Great Brighton Fire, among others.
