Valentine’s Day 2014 Events and Happenings
Life is Sweeter at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, RI

Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island is cooking up a heaping helping of romance and fun for all this Valentine’s Day weekend.

Sometimes the best way to get away is to “stay away”-  The Governor Bradford House offers up its Sweetheart Getaway Package including a two night stay at the Inn , country style breakfast for two each morning; special treats on arrival; Innkeeper assist in booking your Valentine’s dinner in downtown Bristol; complimentary yoga session with Bristol Yoga Studio on Saturday afternoon; three course dinner at the Inn on Saturday night prepared by State Fare Pop-Up Restaurant founder and chef Kirby Dorius; and two complimentary tickets to the 1st Annual Sweetheart Dance in the Barn on Saturday evening. Package is $299 per couple and space is limited.

The Mount Hope Farmers Market is held every Saturday inside the Barn from 9 am to 1 pm- stop by to support your local growers and bring the kids. We’ll be ringing the Barn dinner bell at 12 noon and cutting kids loose in the Barnyard to search for some goodies- it may not be Easter but we’ve still got eggs and ours are filled with Hershey kisses galore! Let kids bring their cache of sweets to the “I Love MHF” table and tell us what they love best about the Farm and coming to the Market each week; all participants will receive an “I love MHF” pin and will have their comments and cuteness featured on the MHF Facebook page- what’s not to “like”?!

For those looking for one dedicated night of romance, why not try the 1st Annual Sweetheart Dance in the Barn? With Luke Renchan Entertainment spinning the tunes; a cash bar complete with “spiked” punch”; a host of fun prizes and a crowning of the 2014 King and Queen, there’s no excuse not to dance the night away!  Dance is $10 per person and proceeds benefit kids programming at the Farm this year; space is limited and no tickets will be available at the door.

“The staff and trustees of Mount Hope Farm put a lot of thought into how best to encourage public use all of the Farm’s spaces and programs while also building support for our preservation work,” said Executive Director Jennifer Bristol. “Valentine’s weekend at one of the most romantic and lovely places in Rhode Island seemed like a win-win for all of our friends, new and old, and we’re looking forward to feeling the love!”
