Mass. home prices and sales hit record for Nov.

PROVIDENCE – The median price of a Massachusetts single-family home in November increased 4.5 percent to $385,000, a record for the month of November, according to The Warren Group Thursday.

The number of sales for the month totaled 5,232, a 2.2 percent increase year over year, another all-time high for the month of November in the Bay State.

“Massachusetts single-family home prices and sales reached all-time highs for the month of November,” stated Timothy Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group. “In fact, this is the first time we have seen a month-over-month increase in sales between October and November since 2012.”

The median price of a condominium in the Bay State increased 4 percent year over year in November to $365,000. The number of condo sales declined 7.4 percent to 1,991 sales.

In Bristol County, Mass., the median price of a single-family home was $311,750 in November, a 3.9 percent increase year over year from $300,000. Sales totaled 410 in the county, a 10.7 percent decline from 459 sales in November 2017.

There were 73 condo sales in Bristol County, Mass., in November, the same as the previous year. The median sale price in the area increased 7.7 percent year over year to $225,000.
