1. Ocean State Labs’ first 5 tenants unveiled POSTED ONLINE: SEPT. 24. The R.I. Life Science Hub on Sept. 24 announced the first five companies lined up to occupy space in Ocean State Labs. The companies are MindImmune Therapeutics, OncoLux Inc., P53 Therapeutics, Pax Therapeutics and XM Therapeutics. Ocean State Labs is a 30,000-square-foot facility that will house up to 30 life sciences and technology companies. It is expected to open in January 2026.

A Providence law firm is suing Rhode Island Grows LLC for more than $1.7 million in unpaid legal fees and interest related to a controversial 25-acre greenhouse project at Schartner Farms in Exeter. 5. Mall receiver wants to replace Providence Place cinema operator POSTED ONLINE: SEPT. 25. Providence Place mall’s managers want to replace the shopping center’s movie theater operator. According to court documents filed Sept. 19, National Amusements’ lease for the space occupied by Providence Place Cinemas 16 ends Jan. 31, and it doesn’t plan to extend it. Mark Russo, a court-appointed lawyer running the mall, says he wants to terminate the lease before it expires and find another movie theater operator to take over the space.
