NewportFed moving Westerly branch to Conn.

WESTERLY – Newport Federal Savings Bank is making a cross-border move.
NewportFed (Nasdaq: NFSB) says it will be moving its Union Street branch in Westerly to a new building in Stonington, Conn., in May. The bank will maintain a presence in Westerly through its Wilder Avenue branch, according to bank officials.
“We provide services to businesses and residents in both communities,” said Kevin McCarthy, Newport Fed’s president and CEO. “But we hope the accessibility of the new location coupled with the appeal of unique products … will provide attractive options for consumers and businesses, and fuel our future growth.”
The new bank location will feature expanded parking, multiple drive-through lanes and advanced ATMs. “We expect this facility to be a model for future branch expansion as we continue our growth to new markets and modernize our infrastructure in existing markets,” McCarthy said.
“As community bankers we understand the critical role we play in the markets we serve,” he added. “Our commitment to service and our awareness of local needs and concerns supports the synergy that allows the community as well as the bank to thrive.”
The relocated office is expected to open May 4.
