PROVIDENCE – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island is accepting applications from organizations interested in participating in Blue across Rhode Island, one of the state’s largest annual days of community service. Applications will be accepted until April 26.
Since Blue across Rhode Island’s inception six years ago, BCBSRI employees have provided more than 18,000 volunteer hours to nonprofit organizations around the state and the organization has awarded $243,000 in grant funds. In addition to providing volunteer support, BCBSRI provides each successful grantee a $5,000 grant to support expenses associated with the volunteer project. Blue across Rhode Island, a key component of BCBSRI’s employee-volunteer program, will be held this year on Friday, Sept. 15.
