NEWPORT – The Naval Undersea Warfare Center recently appointed Dawn Vaillancourt as its new business director.
In her new role, Vaillancourt, the former head of the center’s Strategic Planning Office, will oversee the alignment of the center’s business operations and overall strategic plan, with a focus on business process efficiencies and technical domain stewardships.

After joining the center’s Division Newport in 1985 as a clerk typist, Vaillancourt over the years worked as an upward mobility engineering technician and engineer. She previously served on the Women’s Executive Leadership Program, and as director for planning and performance assessment.
Vaillancourt is a Tiverton resident and University of Rhode Island graduate.
