Pawtucket Credit Union adds 2 industry veterans to management team

PAWTUCKET – Pawtucket Credit Union, Rhode Island’s largest credit union, has hired Maria Botelho as vice president of commercial lending and John Scott as assistant vice president of indirect lending.

Botelho is responsible for developing new business-loan relationships, including real estate, equipment loans, and lines of credit across Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts, the credit union said.

Scott is responsible for overseeing underwriting, decision-making and funding processes on indirect loans, the credit union said.

Botelho has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry, including more than 10 years in the commercial lending field. She most recently served as vice president/commercial loan officer at Mechanics Cooperative Bank.

Botelho started her career at Webster Bank, where she began as a retail banking employee in customer service and worked her way up to branch manager, business-development officer, and vice president of business banking.

She graduated from the Community College of Rhode Island.

Scott has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, including more than 18 years in indirect lending. He most recently served as senior credit analyst at Key Bank. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from West Chester University.
