NEWPORT – Juan Carlos Payero has been named Social Greenhouse Enterprise Newport program director, the organization announced Wednesday.
Payero most recently served as the student development coordinator for community engagement at Roger Williams University. His appointment to the newly-created role of Newport program director took effect May 6.

“We are thrilled to welcome Juan Carlos as our Newport program director,” said Kelly Ramirez, CEO of Social Enterprise Greenhouse. “His extensive experience in program development and deep understanding of community strengths and assets will help us expand the potential for social entrepreneurship in Rhode Island and lay the groundwork for a more just and resilient economy.”
The SEG noted that its expanding its services in the Newport area as part of a federal grant aimed at expanding resources in Opportunity Zones.
The SEG also announced that it is holding an open house at its Newport location at Innovate Newport on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
