PROVIDENCE – Providence Community Library, the largest public library system in the state, appointed Cheryl Space the new assistant library director.

PCL Library Director Jeff Cannell said in a statement: “[Space] brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments at both state and local level to her new role. Cheryl has demonstrated creative and innovative thinking in the area of youth programming and services. I look forward to working with her as PCL develops new ideas and strategic direction for the future.”

Previously serving as PCL’s youth service coordinator, Space will now be responsible for implementation of PCL’s strategic plan and will oversee the goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the organization.
