Perroni, who has supported Make-A-Wish for years as a member of its Rhode Island Advisory Council, joins 18 other board members.

“Joe brings an extraordinary passion for the Make-A-Wish mission at this transformational time of growth for our agency,” said Charlotte A. Beattie, CEO of Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Board members are elected for a two-year term, and can serve up to six terms, said Rich Greif, communications director for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

“I deeply believe in the Make-A-Wish mission and view creating opportunities to bring life-changing wishes to those who need it most as extremely important,” Perroni said. “I look forward to working closely with the organization’s dedicated team to help reach the 420 children in Massachusetts and 80 in Rhode Island that are newly diagnosed with critical illnesses each year.”

Perroni has worked with Delta Dental of Rhode Island for 25 years in multiple roles, including chief sales officer and vice president of business relations.

Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island granted 408 wishes last fiscal year. More than 300 have been granted during the current fiscal year, although that number is expected to top 400 by the end of the fiscal year in August, Greif said.

“Summertime is our busiest season due to travel-related wishes and we plan to grant over 100 wishes this summer alone,” he said.
