KINGSTON – The R.I. Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission tomorrow will present its 24th annual Statewide Historic Preservation Conference.
The daylong event kicks off at 9 a.m. at the University of Rhode Island’s Kingston campus with a keynote address from Steve Taylor, a dairyman and former commissioner of agriculture, markets and food for the state of New Hampshire. His talk, dubbed “Cows, Countryside and Community,” will focus on the need to balance between urban, forest and rural land.
RIHPHC and Preserve Rhode Island are also set to announce a new awards program, for which there will be an ceremony this fall.
