The areas explored on the CD are: the Somme, Vimy Ridge, Ypres, Meuse-Argonne and Verdun. Users can explore each area by selecting the specific region they want to visit. Brown visited France for eight weeks last year and took photographs used in the CD-ROM. There are also numerous historical photos as well. In addition, the CD includes an original music score composed by Wheeler School jazz teacher Steve DeConti. Students and other faculty members also helped produce and design the CD.

The disk’s title comes from a memorial plaque Brown found in Verdun, France, about 20 years ago. When translated it states: “To my son. Since your eyes have closed, mine have not ceased to cry.” The CD is compatible with Windows 95 or 98 and with Macintosh OS 7.0 or higher. The disk can be ordered for $19.95 plus $2 shipping by contacting him through the school.
