NEWPORT – The Edward A. Sherman Publishing Co. has been purchased by Gatehouse Media Inc., the Newport Daily News reported Thursday.
The sale includes The Newport Daily News, The Independent, Newport Life Magazine, South County Life Magazine and Mercury, as well as Sherman Publishing’s other publications.
The deal is to be finalized Nov. 1. Details of the sale were not provided.
No details on staffing details were provided at this time.
