PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Business Plan Competition 2018 is now accepting applications, the organization announced this week.
The organization also announced it will be hosting a free Business Plan Writing Workshop on Feb. 8, from 5:30-7 p.m., at 166-188 Valley St., Building 3, at the Tech Collective in the Rising Sun Mills complex in Providence.

The application deadline for the 2018 competition is April 2 at 5 p.m.
In its advice section on its website, the competition advises applicants to submit close to the deadline so they might be able to work on the proposal until as late as possible.
Once a proposal is submitted, it cannot be changed.

Prizes consisting of cash and in-kind services are expected to exceed $200,000 in value and will be awarded to winners and finalists this year.
Judges will review the applications and select semifinalists, who will make a five-minute presentation to the judges on April 25.
Finalists will then be selected and will have a 25-minute meeting with judges on May 2.
