R.I. gas prices fall 3 cents on the week

PROVIDENCE – Prices for self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island decreased 3 cents this week to $2.34 per gallon, according to AAA Northeast Monday.

Prices in the Ocean State are now level with the national average and 18 cents higher than this time last year.

The price range in Rhode Island for self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline is 25 cents from $2.22 to $2.47 per gallon.

The average price for midgrade unleaded in the state is 2.61 per gallon, ranging from $2.47 to $2.80.

The average price for premium unleaded gasoline is $2.81, ranging from $2.59 to $2.97 per gallon.

In Massachusetts, the average price for self-serve, regular unleaded gas declined 5 cents this week to $2.25 per gallon, 9 cents below the national average of $2.34 per gallon. Year over year, the price of regular gas is 17 cents higher.

Prices for regular unleaded in Massachusetts range from $2.14 to $2.45 per gallon.

Midgrade unleaded in Massachusetts averaged $2.49 per gallon, ranging from $2.33 to $2.70 per gallon.

Prices for premium unleaded averaged $2.67 this week, ranging from $2.58 to $2.90 per gallon.
