R.I., Mass. gas prices fall on weakening seasonal demand, higher inventories

PROVIDENCE – The average weekly price of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island decreased 4 cents to $2.83 per gallon this week. That price is 4 cents higher than the national average and 11 cents lower than it was a year ago, AAA Northeast said Monday.  Weakening demand typical for deep winter and sizable inventory builds are sending Northeast pump prices lower, the agency said.
