R.I. Society of CPAs to host business forum on international trade

LINCOLN – The Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants is slated to host a multi-industry forum on Rhode Island international trade and exports on Nov. 6 at the Kirkbrae Country Club.

Also participating in the breakfast event will be the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the R.I. Commerce Corp., and the Rhode Island Trucking Association, organizers said.

Representatives from the various organizations will participate in an “interactive” panel discussion with the Office of International Trade, based in Washington, D.C.

In addition, David Glaccum, SBA associate administrator for international trade, will discuss what the SBA is doing to help small businesses enter in global markets and grow from it.

The event, which organizers have billed as “the first of its kind,” is scheduled from 7:30 to 10 a.m.

“RI Business Forum is a unique multi-industry platform featuring an industry breakfast series, workforce initiatives, networking events, education programming and leadership-development training,” organizers said.
