Ralph J. Pecchia Kite Day supports National Alliance on Mental Illness

NEWPORT – The 11th annual Ralph J. Pecchia Kite Day at Brenton Point State Park will be celebrated Sunday, July 30 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Free and open to the public, the event is held in support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

“Kite Day is pure family fun,” NAMI Rhode Island Executive Director Cindy Elder said in a statement. “There’s something truly joyful about watching the sky fill up with kites as people celebrate being together in a beautiful, natural environment. We greatly appreciate the Pecchia family’s effort to make this special day happen for more than a decade.”

Donations and proceeds from Kite Day T-shirts will benefit NAMI Rhode Island, the state chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
