Job training: RIEDC will help companies upgrade the skills of their current employees and assist in recruiting and training a workforce that will enhance companies’ competitiveness and reduce training expenses.

Real estate and site location analysis: RIEDC will assist companies in utilizing state and local resources for companies considering expansion or relocation.

Trade missions and trade shows: To assist Rhode Island companies selling to international markets, RIEDC recruits companies to participate in trade shows and trade missions.

Customized Export Management Training Programs for RI Businesses: In partnership with the Human Resource Investment Council, the RIEDC provides funding for export training programs to qualified companies.

Market Entry Programs: The US Department of Commerce District Export Assistance Center in Providence and the RIEDC have teamed up to help export-ready Rhode Island companies make global business contacts.

General Export Assistance: RIEDC’s International Trade Office can also answer a variety of general export questions.

Government contract assistance: On available bids, using computerized data and technical consulting, RIEDC will help companies become more competitive in acquiring federal, state and municipal government contracts.

Enterprise zones: RIEDC will offer financial, tax and training savings and incentives for companies that expand facilities and employment in one of the nine designated enterprise zones in the state.

Business and economic information: RIEDC maintains numerous databases of information for use by companies.

Tax incentives: RIEDC will provide information on the state’s Investment Tax Credit, Research and Development Tax Credits and other tax credits available to financial service firms, manufacturing companies and research and development firms expanding in the state.

Creative problem solving for businesses: RIEDC will assist businesses with growth and expansion needs.

RIEDC’s Account Management Program (AMP) is designed to provide businesses with a “one stop” option for obtaining business information. The EDC encourages businesses to view the AMP as a clearinghouse and complete business resource. The AMP exists to assess the needs of individual business and to serve as a liaison between businesses and resource organizations.
