CRANSTON – The Governor’s Workforce Board last week awarded its second round of industry partnership grants, totaling more than $500,000, to engage “high-wage, high-growth” industries in the creation of statewide work force development strategies.
Grant recipients include the Community College of Rhode Island, receiving $100,626 for a minority contractors construction-industry partnership; the International Yacht Restoration School, getting $11,290 for a marine trades partnership; The Providence Plan, which is getting $150,000 for an urban construction industry partnership; and the Rhode Island Hospitality Association Education Foundation, getting $150,000 for a hospitality work force partnership.
