R.I. educators head to Chicago for arts summit

PROVIDENCE – A team of Rhode Island arts education leaders will take part in an exclusive “Arts Education Leadership Institute” next month, thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
The six-member team will meet with teams from four other states in Chicago from July 15 to 17 to discuss arts education topics such as assessment, leadership in arts education, curriculum development and access to arts learning.
The Rhode Island team, assembled by the R.I. State Council on the Arts, includes: Leland Brown of Narragansett; Sherilyn Brown of Cranston; Rosemary Burns of Jamestown; Jeannine Chartier of Providence; Ann Galligan of Providence and Jennifer Wood of Providence.
