PROVIDENCE – Foreclosure filings in Rhode Island decreased 18 percent in the third quarter from the second quarter, but remained well above the pace of foreclosures during the same period last year, RealtyTrac said Thursday.
From July 1 to Sept. 30, there were 1,529 foreclosure filings on properties in the state, down from 1,867 in the previous three months of this year. Filings increased when compared to the third quarter last year when they stood at 1,209 filing, the California-based real estate tracking firm said.
