PROVIDENCE – Parents and educators can now access data on school districts online at InfoWorks Live!, a website launched on Nov. 16 by the R.I. Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The website, infoworks.ride.ri.gov, will include results of NECAP assessments and SATs along with information on the teachers (qualifications and teacher-student ratios); school demographics; attendance, graduation and suspension rates; municipal tax rates; and property-value per student.

RIDE said it later plans to include reports on school and district income and expenses, as well as the results of annual surveys of students, parents and teachers.
“We have lots of education data and information in Rhode Island, but we have not always put that information to its best use,” said Deborah A. Gist, commissioner of RIDE. “All Rhode Islanders need solid data to monitor school achievement, to keep tabs on our investments in education, and to hold all of us in the education field accountable for our work.”
