PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Department of Transportation will begin the final phase of its project to rehabilitate the Blackstone Street Bridge in mid-September, removing the divided highway traffic pattern on Interstate 95 that has been in place since early summer, the department announced Tuesday.
Both northbound and southbound traffic on I-95 will be shifted left, the department said. The northbound shift is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 10. The southbound shift is scheduled to take effect Tuesday, Sept. 11. All exits and on-ramps will remain open during the work.
