Rite Aid store design a ‘prototype’

CRANSTON – A Rite Aid store opened last week in Rhode Island is a “prototype” of a new store design that’s based on customer feedback, according to Rite Aid Corp.
The 14,000-square-foot Cranston Street store has wider aisles, “more visible” department signs, a larger pharmacy waiting area and a central cosmetics department.
“We are very excited to open our first Customer World store design in the Cranston community,” Rite Aid District Manager Christopher Gosnold said, adding, “Customers told us that their relationship with the pharmacist was important, so each new store highlights the pharmacy. Pharmacy is our core business so we made it the focal point, or star, of the Customer World design.”
Rite Aid Corp. has more than 4,900 stores in 31 states and Washington, D.C., and last year had $26.3 billion in sales. Additional information is available at www.riteaid.com.
