According to unofficial observations from the National Weather Service, Providence County received between 9.2 inches to 17.0 inches of snow accumulations; Bristol County (Rhode Island and Massachusetts) 4.9 to 15.0 inches, Kent County 9.1 – 13 inches, Newport County 5.8 – 7.0 inches and Washington County 9.0 – 11.0 inches.

Nevertheless, Rhode Islanders may only get one day of respite from the snow, as there is a chance of snow showers seen for Friday afternoon through Saturday night.
National Grid said there are 116 customers with 5 active outages in Rhode Island as of 12:00 p.m.
“It was a tough, long storm. We got a lot of snow very quickly but the sun has come out today, so that has helped,” Baker added, noting that with this storm, the DOT is concerned with getting enough treatment down to prevent black ice tomorrow.
Drivers, however, should still use caution on the roads and be aware that snow in parking lots and sidewalks may still be a problem.
