PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island State Nurses Association and Rhode Island Monthly named Jean Marie Rocha “Nurse of the Year in a Nontraditional Setting” earlier this year for her work as vice president of clinical affairs at the Hospital Association of Rhode Island.

In her post at HARI, Rocha is responsible for clinical performance measurement, quality improvement, patient care standards, accreditation and regulatory compliance, and professional licensing.
Before joining the Hospital Association, she worked at the R.I. Department of Health as director of nurse registration and nursing education. She also served as the project manager of the Rhode Island Health Quality Performance Measurement and Reporting Program.
Rocha earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree in public health from Boston University. She is a licensed nurse in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
