Santander kills ATM fees in Mexico, P.R.

BOSTON – Santander Bank N.A. has eliminated ATM fees for travelers in Mexico and Puerto Rico, according to an announcement from the bank. Santander has more than 5,300 local ATMs, including those at affiliated banks, in those popular destinations.
One of Santander’s affiliated banks maintains more than 5,200 ATMs in destinations such as Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Cozumel, Mazatlan, Mexico City, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Vallarta. Santander customers will be able to make withdrawals free of charge at the ATMs in Mexico.
An affiliated bank in Puerto Rico operates 130 Santander ATMs in such popular vacation sites at Arecibo, Fajardo, Ponce and Old San Juan. Santander customers will be able to conduct all transactions free of charge in Puerto Rico.
