MIDDLETOWN — SEA CORP was awarded a $12 million, 18-month contract on Dec. 7 for undersea electronic warfare systems design and engineering support, development and evaluation to the Undersea Electromagnetic Systems Department of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport.

The contract is a follow-on to SEA CORP’s previous three-year contract for electronic warfare design.

As the prime contractor, SEA CORP will lead a team of several subcontractors to provide services including system-engineering design, development and evaluation; software engineering and product development; information assurance; land-based facility support and shipboard installation and removal of prototype systems; testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and support of prototypes and fielded systems; and electronic warfare database development.

SEA CORP has also committed to a range of small-business goals that will greatly enhance the small-business participation in U.S. Navy systems support.

The company, founded in 1981, provides a variety of systems and engineering services primarily to Department of Defense customers. SEA CORP is headquartered in Middletown’s Aquidneck Corporate Park, where the firm holds office space in three separate buildings. The company employs more than 400 professionals including engineers, scientists, technicians and management support personnel.
