NEWPORT – Maria Sharapova and Bob and Mike Bryan have been added to the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum’s ballot for the 2025 induction class.

Sharapova, the hall of fame says, became the first Russian woman to reach the world No. 1 ranking in 2005. During her 20-year career, she won 36 singles titles, including five major championships. Her major wins came twice at the French Open, a 2004 Wimbledon title, winning the U.S. Open in 2006 and the Australian Open in 2008.

The hall of fame says the Bryan brothers won 16 major titles together, including six Australian Opens and five U.S. Opens. They won at least one major title together for 11 straight years and hold the record for most consecutive weeks atop the Association of Tennis Professionals doubles world rankings with 438. The brothers also won gold in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Sharapova and the Bryans join Canada’s Daniel Nestor as nominees in the player category. To be elected to the hall of fame, candidates must receive an affirmative vote of at least 75% or higher from the combined total of the official voting group result, and any bonus percentage points earned in the fan vote, which runs through Thursday.
