Sojourner House raises $190K from annual Masquerade Ball

PROVIDENCE – Local domestic abuse victim support nonprofit Sojourner House raised more than $190,000 at the organization’s 12th annual Masquerade Ball that was held Nov. 18 at the Graduate Providence.

More than 400 people attended the event, which featured music and dancing. The funds raised during the event will support Sojourner House’s programs and services for victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.

Sojourner House said the $190,000-plus that was raised is the largest amount the organization has ever raised in a single event in its 46-year history.

“We are incredibly grateful to our community for their ongoing support of our growing work. This past year has again been marked by remarkable growth for our agency,” Sojourner House Executive Director Vanessa Volz said in a statement. “This growth and the impact we have on the community wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our donors.”
