PROVIDENCE – The State of Rhode Island last month signed a new, long-term contract with eGovernment firm NIC to manage its official government Web site, RI.gov.
The contract includes an initial three-year term with one two-year renewal option that can extend the contract through 2012.
“We’ve worked with NIC for six years, and the results speak for themselves,” said John E. Landers, chief information officer for the state. “In that time, we’ve made doing business with the State of Rhode Island easier. We’ve put 170 state services online, including business-tax processing for 55 unique taxes. We’re happy to continue the partnership.”
