SyQwest wins $3.6M Navy contract

WARWICK – SyQwest Inc., supplier of high-resolution sonar and acoustic systems for sea floor exploration, announced May 5 that it won a three-year, maximum $3.6 million contract with the U.S. Navy.

We continue to demonstrate our capabilities and expertise in acoustic sensor design to a wide array of global commercial and military customers,” said Robert Tarini, CEO of SyQwest.
SyQwest said it will manufacture and test transducer ceramic stack assemblies for the TR-343 transducer, which is used on a broad array of Navy surface ships. The assemblies provide the required piezoelectric characteristics to produce mechanical motion in the water for the generation of sonar signals when a large voltage is applied.
