Kelli J. Armstrong | Salve Regina University president
I was drawn to Salve Regina because of its mission, which flows from the inspirational values of the Sisters of Mercy. At Salve, we embrace the concept of servant leadership because it aligns so closely with these values.
A servant leader:
• Empowers others by celebrating their strengths and illuminating their talents.
• Knits together a healthy, supportive organization that works collaboratively.
• Supports a diverse environment and adapts to the needs of others.
• Engages the community to develop a strong vision for positive impact.
• Shepherds organizations through change, but also demonstrates humanity and humility.
Salve faculty and staff provide a transformative experience for our students, supporting them to become the kind of servant leaders who will make a lasting difference in their local communities and in the world.
At this moment in history, there is a deep need for this kind of leadership, a way of viewing responsibility from the perspective of service.
I am truly fortunate to be part of an institution like Salve with these values, and to witness the impressive outcomes of a Mercy education.
