TIVERTON – The opening date of the Tiverton Casino Hotel has been moved up one month to Sept. 1, Twin River Management Group announced Thursday.
The original opening date was scheduled for Oct. 1. When completed, the property will feature an 84-room hotel, 32 table games and 1,000 slots.
“Much of the exterior work on the casino and hotel is completed. For the casino, we are enclosing spaces and painting, the ceiling grid is being installed, and light fixtures and security cameras are also actively being installed,” Twin River Management Group Chairman John E. Taylor Jr. said in a statement. “The restaurant area is taking shape and the food court is just about ready for coolers and other serving fixtures. With respect to the hotel, the rooms are in the process of being dry-walled and within the coming month, we’ll be tiling bathrooms and painting. Last, the garage is scheduled to be completed within the next month or so.”
Taylor credited the construction crew working on the casino hotel for accelerating work “despite the weather.”
The roundabout on Stafford Road in Tiverton will be complete by opening date, he said, adding, “We project an August completion date for the roundabout, which we know is of tremendous interest to the Tiverton and nearby Fall River communities, and as promised, we will not open the casino before we complete this important road project.”
