Transportation firm to build<br> Johnston facility, add 140 jobs

JOHNSTON – A. Duie Pyle Inc., a West Chester, Pa.-based transportation and logistics supplier that serves the Northeast, says it will build a distribution center and warehouse in Johnston, creating about 120 full-time and 20 part-time jobs over the next three years.
The 67,000-square-foot facility will be in a new industrial park adjacent to the R.I. Resource Recovery Corporation off Shun Pike in Johnston. Construction is to begin this spring and cost an estimated $11.6 million.
“I’m pleased to have the opportunity to welcome the premier transportation and logistics company in the Northeast to Rhode Island,” Gov. Donald L. Carcieri said, adding that with its investment, “A. Duie Pyle is helping to move our economy forward.”
The R.I. Economic Development Corporation and the town worked closely with the company to bring it to Johnston.
