Venture Café to host discussion on wind energy, coastal resiliency Nov. 7

PROVIDENCE – Venture Café Providence on Nov. 7 will gather technologists, researchers, startups, corporations and urban planners for a discussion about how to use innovative technology to improve wind-energy systems, coastal resiliency and the urban coast’s environmental footprint.

The discussion, which is being billed as a mini conference titled “BlueTech Connect: Wind Energy and Coastal Resiliency,” will run from 5 to 8 p.m.

From 5 to 6 p.m., office hours are planned, in which entrepreneurs can meet with industry experts in finance, law, cybersecurity, operations and product development for 30 minutes of free advising. Experts include Daniel Gertrudes, founder, managing director and CEO of GrowthLab Financial Services Inc. in Providence, and consultant Scott Asadorian, a marketing, leadership and strategy adviser in Providence.

Also on the agenda are blue-economy demo tables, panel discussions and flash talks in which entrepreneurs can share their innovations in areas such as clean tech, cybersecurity, defense innovation and energy.
