Verizon expands 3G in Exeter

EXETER – Verizon has expanded its 3G capacity in Exeter, specifically along Ten Rod Road and Woody Hill Road and other areas, the telecommunications giant said on Dec. 15.
“People across Rhode Island are increasingly relying on smart phones and 3G apps to manage their busy lives and stay connected at home or on-the-go,” said Richard Enright, director for Network Systems Performance, in a news release.
The expanded capacity will allow Exeter users to: download and use apps, work on-the-go with fast file sharing, download and play 3D games, and stream video and customized radio stations.
“The $2.6 billion we’ve invested into our New England network has kept us ahead of consumer trends, provided our customers a 3G advantage and underscored our belief that any mobile device is only as good as the network it runs on,” Verizon said in its news release.
