Career Day Event Set For June 19 to Meet and Interview Interested Candidates

To recruit candidates for the program, a career fair is scheduled for June 19 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick Hotel. There will be two sessions available: 9:00 am-12:30 pm or 5:00 pm-8:30 pm. Vertikal6 is encouraging candidates who have the aptitude for technology and the education to match, to attend one of the sessions for the opportunity to interview for available positions. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma/GED, proficiency in basic computer skills, and customer service experience. Registration can be completed at www.V6Apprentice.EventBrite.com.
With an increased need for IT specialists, Vertikal6 is taking charge by launching a custom-designed apprenticeship programs. Vertikal6, a full-service IT consultant, has a long history of utilizing this apprenticeship model to train the Support Technicians. A large majority of their team has been trained through an apprenticeship model, which was used at the foundation for the more formalized program with Apprenticeship Rhode Island.

Vertikal6’s custom-designed program matches the competencies required for their IT Support Technicians, including National Certifications such as Comptia Network+, and training towards Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certifications. Both of these are multi-test certifications and Vertikal6 trains for specific tests within these certification paths including the Network+, 2 MTA tests and 1 MCSA exam.
“During my apprenticeship I gained more skills, knowledge, independence, and confidence than I ever thought possible in such a short period of time.” Says Jenna Barboza, currently Support Team Lead at Vertikal6 and a graduate of the Vertikal6 apprentice program. “The program gave me the understanding and self-confidence I needed to be successful in IT. Since graduating from the program, I have been promoted twice and am beyond thankful to be with a company that helped me turn my degree into a career.”
