Washington Trust, R.I. Housing to host seminar

WESTERLY – The Washington Trust Co. and Rhode Island Housing will host a free seminar, First-Time Homebuying Made Easy, on Monday, May 9, at 6 p.m. in Washington Trust’s branch at 645 Reservoir Ave. in Cranston.
The seminar will cover aspects of the home-purchasing process, including what to expect when buying a home, down payment and closing-cost options, the criteria lenders use to examine applicants, and program qualifications.
Speakers will include a Rhode Island Housing representative, a Consumer Credit Counseling Service representative, and Tom Carroll, mortgage loan officer, from Washington Trust.
Reservations are required to ensure enough space and course material is available.
Attendees will receive the homebuyer’s education certificate required for Rhode Island Housing financing.
