Women & Infants appoints new president and COO

PROVIDENCE – Rick Majzun has been named president and chief operating officer of Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, Care New England announced Wednesday.

Majzun will officially start the position on July 23. The appointment follows a year-long national search, according to the company. He comes from St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he served as vice president of operations, and vice president of Women & Infants Service at Barnes Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

“I have long admired the reputation and care offered at Women & Infants Hospital and am excited to lead this pre-eminent organization,” said Majzun in a statement. “My family and I look forward to relocating to Rhode Island and enjoying all that this beautiful state has to offer.”

Diane Rafferty had served as interim president and chief operating officer since August following the departure of Mark Marcantano.
