Established by Commerce RI to attract and retain recent college graduates pursuing careers in the science, technology, engineering and math fields, and first awarded in 2016, these tax-credit incentives allow local residents working in STEM industries to defray the cost of student loans for a maximum of four years while working in Rhode Island.
More information can be found on the Commerce RI website.
“We are proud of these graduates for earning their degree at NEIT and choosing to begin their careers in Rhode Island,” said Douglas H. Sherman, senior vice president and provost. “NEIT’s mission is to prepare our students with the technical and professional skills required in today’s competitive labor market. They will certainly make a positive contribution to the Rhode Island economy.”
To date, 41 NEIT graduates have received Wavemaker Fellowships per the school’s count.
