2009 Business Women winners named

PROVIDENCE – Providence Business News today announced the names of the 14 women who have been selected to be honored in the second part of the newspaper’s year-long initiative recognizing women in the Rhode Island Business community.
The second annual Business Women Awards program, to be held Thursday, May 21, at the Providence Marriott, will feature the 14 women chosen by PBN in six business categories, as well as the 12 women who have been featured monthly in the pages of the newspaper for their career success.

The most recently named group of women honor those who are established leaders in their industries and those “women to watch” who already show signs of significant promise. The winners were selected from nearly 100 nominations.

In addition, PBN will honor Dr. Anne De Groot, founder and CEO of EpiVax and director of the University of Rhode Island’s new Institute of Immunology and Informatics, for overall career achievement, and Susan Keller, partner at Edwards Angell Palmer and Dodge LLP, for being a mentor and ally to other business women.
