3 homes in Barrington each exceed $1M in sales

BARRINGTON – Fifteen homes have sold in Barrington this year at prices exceeding $1 million, according to area real estate agents. In recent days, three such houses in the East Bay community changed hands.

A contemporary house at 14 S. Meadow Lane, which closed on July 28, was sold for $1,050,000, according to a news release from Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, whose sales associate, Monica VanDeventer, represented the buyer. Rebecca Mayer, a broker associate with Residential Properties Ltd., represented the seller.

The two-story, shingle-style house is in the Smith’s Cove area of Barrington. It has three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and is within minutes of the Rhode Island Country Club and East Bay Bike Path.

A three-story colonial at 40 Chapin Road, in Rumstick Village, sold on Aug. 2 for $1,025,000. The house was built by local builder Fred Almeida. Its interior includes tall ceilings and custom woodwork. The listing agent was Nancy Weaver, a sales associate with Residential Properties. The buyer’s agent was Christina Ardente, a sales associate with Residential Properties.

On Aug. 8, a single-story house featuring open rooms and hardwood flooring sold for $1,345,000. The property in Rumstick, at 246 Rumstick Road, includes a tennis court, heated indoor pool and a furnished basement with wet bar and fireplace. The listing agent was Ardente, with Residential Properties. The buyer’s agent was Kerri Payne, also of Residential Properties.
