6 Providence metro companies make 2018 Inc. 5000 list

PROVIDENCE – Six companies in the Providence metropolitan area were named to the 2018 Inc. 5000 list, the magazine’s list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

The list is comprised of American companies that reported the largest three-year revenue growth rates to Inc.

Case Snow Management Inc., a snow and ice management company based in North Attleborough, reported the highest growth rate in the Providence metro area, ranking No. 1,779 in the country with a 255 percent three-year revenue growth rate. The company reported revenue of $36 million in 2017. Inc. said that Case Snow Management is a five-time Inc. 5000 honoree.

South Kingstown-based medical software company Chartwise Medical Systems Inc. was the highest-rated Rhode Island-based private company on the list, and the second highest in the Providence metro at No. 2,503. The company reported three-year revenue growth of 172 percent and $6.3 million in revenue in 2017. The 2018 inclusion on the Inc. 5000 list was the company’s third time receiving the honor.

Best Practice Energy LLC, also headquartered in South Kingstown, was the third-highest ranked company in the Providence metro at No. 2,588. The company reported 164 percent three-year revenue growth and 2017 revenue of $3.2 million. The company has made the Inc. 5000 list twice.

TribalVision LLC, the digital marketing and advertising agency headquartered in Warwick, ranked at No. 2,869 on the Inc. 5000 list this year with a three-year revenue growth rate of 143 percent. The company reported 2017 revenue of $6.1 million. This was the third time TribalVision has made the Inc. 5000 list.

Real estate company Nathan Clark & Associates, based in Smithfield, ranked No. 3,942 this year with a 90 percent three-year revenue growth rate and $3.4 million revenue in 2017. This was Nathan Clark & Associates first time on the Inc. 5000 list.

Compass IT Compliance LLC, the IT security, audit and compliance services company headquartered in North Providence, was the sixth highest and final local ranked company in 2018 at No. 4,839, with a three-year-revenue growth rate of 62 percent. The company reported $3.1 million of revenue in 2017. This was the second time the company has made the Inc. 5000 list.

The Madison Wisc.-based company SwanLeap was No. 1 this year with three-year revenue growth of 75,661 percent on $99 million in revenue.

The highest-ranked company in New England was Curate Partners, a talent recruitment agency headquartered in Stoneham, Mass., at No. 20 in the country. The company reported a 10,057 percent three-year revenue growth rate and $12.3 million revenue in 2017.

Massachusetts had the most companies on the list in New England this year with 147. Connecticut had the second-most companies in the region on the list at 39, followed by New Hampshire with 21, Maine with 10, Rhode Island with five and Vermont with three.

For companies to qualify for the Inc. 5000, they were required to be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of Dec. 31, 2017. Companies were also required to have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2014. Inc. noted that some companies on the 2018 list have since gone public or been acquired.
